African Entertainment & Lifestyle Awards to recognise Africa’s leading lifestyle experiences
Cape Town, South Africa - Cape Town is set to host the inaugural African Entertainment & Lifestyle Awards (AELAs) on 19 March 2027, recognising excellence, innovation, creativity and leadership across Africa’s entertainment and lifestyle industry.
The AELAs will celebrate lifestyle festivals, organisations and individuals that contribute to tourism, economic growth, memorable experiences and Africa’s position as a leading global destination for live entertainment and lifestyle experiences.
The awards will take place alongside three other major lifestyle and entertainment events being held in the city, including the Cape Town Carnival parade on 20 March and the Montreux Jazz Festival Franschhoek from 19–21 March 2027. The Cape Town International Jazz Festival could also take place during the same weekend, with an additional festival weekend potentially taking place during March.
The AELAs will recognise achievements across a broad range of sectors, including lifestyle festivals, music, arts and culture, film, literature, fashion, food and drink, shopping, sport, health and wellness, government celebrations and other major live entertainment experiences.
Recognition would be bestowed on leaders in the lifestyle experience economy, funders and sponsorship activations, and the PowerList50 for events’ media visibility based on PR campaigns and online ratings and reviews from attendees.
